Kim Allen attended the Journal of Youth Studies conference which took place at Ulster University, Belfast, in September. Kim presented two papers from her current ESRC project ‘L-earning: rethinking young women’s working lives’.

Sarah Irwin recently published 'Acting on climate change concerns: lay perceptions of possibility, complexity and constraint' in Environmental Sociology, co-written with Katy Wright. We have written a Priestley Centre blog about this work.

Sarah also attended the European Sociological Association conference at Porto University in August, and co-presented a joint paper 'Lay engagement with interconnected climate and social crises: complexity, voice and deliberation' (prepared with colleagues from the University of Glasgow and Queensland). Relatedly, Sarah's paper ('Addressing Hardship and Climate Change: Citizens' perceptions of costs of living, social inequalities and priorities for policy') was recently published in Social Policy and Administration.
